Start My Day Better

Why is it that some days we feel sluggish and cloudy-minded while other days we feel connected to everything we do and hold a vibrant connection to the present?

Many reasons! We are never the same person two days in a row, meaning our minds and bodies are different day to day. Consistent inconsistency is a weird fact we all live by. What I need and want to better understand (and to share with you today) is that we can still show up to our daily lives a little better if we remember how incredible our life is. And how do we do this?

How?

Happy Friday Readers, it’s great to connect with you. I’m Norman and today, like most days, I am trying to connect with the good life.

Today, I remember that the good life exists. Now that’s a blessing. Over the past few days and even weeks, the challenges and struggles have been real. My thinking has been scattered, adding to the stress I already have to manage. But today when I awoke I did something different. I started my day with gratitude.

Medicine for My Struggle

I don’t start most of my mornings with gratitude. Not these days at least. Instead, most mornings I wake up with my mind racing through what I need to do. I have to earn more money. I have to be more present in my relationships. I have to build a purpose-filled job. I have to, I have to, I have to. All these “I have to’s” fill my head as soon as I open my eyes. But today, strangely, I started in a different way.

Somehow, we're all still here. That must mean there's a story worth living for. My story is to transform a little bit of life into the extraordinary. #EMPOWERUS
