“Providence needs an art scene, and with as many artists that live in this city there is a lot of potential to build a community around that,” words said and spread by Kobe Jackson. Providence, RI has been heavily reshaped by the Covid-19 pandemic turning our city on its head, shutting down many fine arts exhibits, and forcing many expressionists to go digital or stay home.

The long wait for an artist collaboration is over and we are proud to offer the public a chance to view or buy art this Saturday by thirteen incredible artists!

Bahara Place Mall is on the corner of the famous Westminister St and Bough St in Olneyville, an area always live with pedestrian foot-traffic, street peddlers, and city renovation. Kobe Jackson is creating and leading his first group art exhibit but is no stranger to the art industry. He has been part of many projects all over the country from Align Gallery, Highland Park, CA to more local exhibits like The Dirt Palace in Providence, RI. Click on his name at the top of the article to see his longstanding career as an art entrepreneur.

This Saturday, October 10th, Kobe and twelve other local artists will be displaying one or two works, ranging from realism to abstraction. The idea behind this range of art expressions is to exemplify how unique Providence is and how we can still come together no matter how different we are.

The excitement starts at 7 PM and will loosely wrap up around 9 PM with an opportunity afterward to connect with these artists and find out what projects they have going on in their own lives.

The assortment of artists and expressionists who will be at this event will truly be one of a kind, some artists being friends of Kobe’s and others who will be meeting everyone for the first time.

The famous saying, “we don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are,” means we look at reality through the screen of our thinking and the judgment which is conditioned by the past. This artist collective is coming together to dispel the ideologies our society has created to keep us segregated in thought and culture. The uptake of this art demonstration aims to help both artists and the public connect with Providence, to show we are never truly alone, and to show we can band together no matter what adversity is in front of us.

No RSVP is necessary, nor is the buying of art necessary. Come and enjoy what local Providence artists have to offer and meet a community of aspiring individuals! Sip, eat, and chat with everyone or come in to mingle on your own, whatever your mood is. Want to see what you’ll be getting into? Click on any terms or names underlined in this article and we hope to see you there!

Somehow, we're all still here. That must mean there's a story worth living for. My story is to transform ordinary life into extraordinary living. #EMPOWERUS
